Education Programs
for Primary School Students

Marguerite Bourgeoys -

Our education programs will get your students involved while meeting the objectives of the Program of Studies of the Quebec School. The Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum offers you a stimulating and enjoyable educational outing.

Tell me the story of Ville-Marie

Competences:

  • Understand and describe the organization of a society on its territory
  • Interpret changes in a society on its territory
  • Use critical thinking
  • Develop a sense of identity

Montreal, Land of Welcome

Have your students live the adventure of Marguerite Bourgeoys and the pioneer men and women who left France in the 17th century to come and settle in Montreal, a new land of welcome.

By taking on the role of these men and women who built Montreal, the children will walk in their shoes and follow the path they took to found a new city. Considering the reasons early Montrealers left Europe and came to New France, the difficult conditions of the boats on which they travelled and the day-to-day life of the times, students will be introduced to the Montreal of bygone days and to its inhabitants.
